About
Todd O’Brien, Owner of T.O.B. Dog Training, has been a dog lover and owner since he was very young. He has trained many dogs and will train any dog-any size, any age-and focus on teaching the dog owners the training method that works best for their dog. He, and his wife Susan, have 5 children between them, and own two dogs, Layla (Labrador Retriever) and Luna (Golden Retriever).
At T.O.B. Dog Training, we focus on the following:
- Obedience Training
- Commands, such as: "Sit", "Wait", "Come", "Place", "Off", "Heel"
- Behaviors, such as: pulling on leash, mouthing, nipping, chewing, digging, potty training, barking, begging, jumping up, aggression, hyperactivity, waiting, and coming
- Socialization with other Dogs and with People
- Walking/Running on Leash
Training Methods
What makes our training methods different?
Our training methodology is based in positive reinforcement with an in-home approach. Our main goal is to help dog owners understand how to follow our dog training methods to achieve sustainable dog obedience. We want your dog to obey you for the long-term, not just during T.O.B. Dog Training sessions.
Punishments and shock collars are a thing of the past. Pairing positive dog training methods with an electronic collar is how we achieve maximum results. An electronic collar is not a shock collar; it is simply used to get the dog's attention, much like tugging on a leash. The electronic collar is never used as a punishment.
At T.O.B. Dog Training, we work on conditioning dogs to obey without even thinking about it, so when you say, "Sit," it is automatic for them to do so. How do we do this?
Our area of dog training service is a 30 mile radius outside of Sioux City, Iowa. Anything beyond that is $1.00 per mile for time and mileage.

Dog Training Sessions
We come to your home to train in the environment where you and your dog reside. During training sessions in Level One, we work with your dog to ensure they have learned all of the commands and can walk on leash.

Dog Owner Education
We will work with you, the dog owner, to ensure that you continue with any training opportunities as part of your daily routine. We will give you all the tools to ensure that your dog continues on the journey of success.

LEVEL ONE OBEDIENCE TRAINING
- 3 One-Hour Sessions: $450*
- The first session will be up to two hours, as the first portion will be getting to know you, your dog, his/her behaviors, and the environment.
- *There is also an additional $100 charge for required collar and retractable leash, unless the dog owner has an approved collar and leash prior to the initial session.
- More training as needed: $150 per session.
- Payment must be received before training begins.

LEVEL TWO OBEDIENCE TRAINING
- 5 One-Hour Sessions: $700*
- The first session will be up to two hours, as the first portion will be getting to know you, your dog, his/her behaviors, and the environment.
- *There is also an additional $100 charge for required collar and retractable leash, unless the dog owner has an approved collar and leash prior to the initial session.
- More training as needed: $125 per session.
- Payment must be received before training begins.

DOG OWNER TRAINING
- This is a single two-hour session that includes the initial consultation: $200*
- The first portion will be getting to know you, your dog, his/her behaviors, and the environment.
- *There is also an additional $100 charge for required collar and retractable leash, unless the dog owner has an approved collar and leash prior to the initial session.
- More training as needed: $175 per one-hour session.
- Payment must be received before training begins.
